We Have Every Evidence To Prosecute Fmr PPA Boss- Special Prosecutor
Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyaben has disclosed that his office has enough evidence to successfully prosecute Adjenim Boateng Adjei, the former Chief Executive Officer of the Public Procurement Authority (PPA).
He says the evidence they have is not only against the former PPA boss but also against his brother-in-law, Francis Kwaku Arhin, involved in corruption.
“I have my firm conviction that we have every evidence to see the accused prosecuted on procurement breaches [charges]. The accused persons are the former Chief Executive of the PPA and his brother-in-law… Their pleas were taken. The pleaded not guilty, and the court has given directions as to how the trial will proceed so in a month’s time we’ll be back to comply with the court proceedings,” he said.
“As I said during my vetting, I’m going to make corruption very costly,” he added.
Meanwhile, the High Court has granted bail to the two suspects in the corruption case (Criminal Court 3 Division).
The two, who face 18 counts of profiting from public office, have been granted bail of GH5 million with two sureties apiece.
The sureties must each submit their national identification cards to the Court’s register.
The hearing has been postponed until June 28, 2022.
