Two people are in critical condition after police opened fire at Agege Mile 8, a village near Tarkwa in the Western Region, resulting in a barrage of gunfire.

According to accounts, some enraged Agege teenagers and Anglogold Iduaprim management battled last night over the community’s electricity supply being shut off.

Nana Kwame Bawuah, Chief Linguist of Agege, told Oyerepa Midday News that some police officers deployed to calm the situation ended up firing warning bullets to deter the enraged youngsters.

Two people were shot in the process, but no one was killed.

In a Tarkwa hospital, the victims are responding to medical care.
