Truck Rammed Into Shop, Family of 5 Narrowly Escape Death
An articulated truck smashed into a container business a family of five was occupying near Sekondi Enamnase in the Western Region on Tuesday, narrowly avoiding death.
According to Baba Salami, an Assembly member for the area, the family is from Shama and runs a little grocery out of a metal container in Sekondi.
He claimed that on that fatal day, as they were organizing products inside the roadside shop, a truck slammed into it, demolishing the container and wounding all of the people inside.
Two youngsters, ages three and five, and a senior high school female student, thought to be 16, were among the victims.
Female adults in their early 60s were the other two victims.
The patients were all sent to Sekondi’s Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital.
The truck driver was also hurt and was sent to the same hospital for treatment.
Because the injuries to the two toddlers and the 16-year-old girl were minor, they were treated and released.
The two adult female victims who suffered critical injuries are still in the hospital.
