After a truck carrying tomatoes collapsed on the median at the Alajo crossroads of the Nsawam road, there has been significant vehicular traffic.

The vehicle spilled approximately 60 cartons of tomatoes into the road, blocking two lanes on both sides.

The incident occurred about 4 a.m. on Monday, June 20, when a truck going for the Makola Market failed to stop and collided with numerous automobiles.

“I had a break failure while descending the slope; there were four cars ahead of me – so, I decided to rather slide against the pavement but the truck was not slowing down; that is why I slammed into the median and the truck overturned,” driver of the truck said.

As a result of the accident, officers from the Police Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) were called in to help control traffic flow.

About 60 crates of tomatoes were loaded into the vehicle.

As a result of the incident, no one has been injured.
