TESCON President Arrested For Saying Regional minister Didn’t Bath
Tertiary Education Students Confederacy (TESCON) President of Tamale Technical University has been arrested by the Northern Regional police command for allegedly saying that the Regional Minister did not take his bath before meeting the President.
The president of the Students Representative Council (SRC), Dauda Gafaru in an interview said the arrest has blown out of proportion, “Be Citizens, Not Spectators.”
“The Northern Regional minister allegedly made Ghana police service arrest the person who made this comment when Radio Tamale posted his pictures when he was in slippers during the president’s visit to the region,” he stressed.
“This person who commented is the TESCON president for Tamale Technical University. This arrest was done at the University’s SRC secretariat when Sayiby Afa Yaba went there to have some interaction with the SRC president,” he added.
The police came with a V8 and made this arrest for the reason that the lady who replied to Sayiby Afa Yaba’s comment “nonsense” was allegedly attacked by the TESCON president” Dauda Gafaru narrated
He is still in police custody to assist with investigation.
Meanwhile, some sections of the student body have started protesting for his release of him.
