
Student Nurse Murdered At Mankessim
Police in Cape Coast has arrested a pastor for allegedly assisting one Chief in the area to kill a 25-year-old student nurse at Cape Coast.
The deceased Georgina Asor Botchwey is said to have been killed and buried secretly the Chief and Pastor in the chief’s house at Mankessim in the Central Region.
The duo is said to have dug a pit in the chief’s house which is under construction and buried the final year student nurse.
It has so far not been established the reason for the gruesome murder.
The Chief happens to the Tufohen of Ekumfi Akwakrom and also President of the Mankessim Traders Association, Nana Crack.
The pastor was arrested at Cape Coast after confessing the crime to the police after which the Police followed him to the Chief’s House.
The body of the deceased was retrieved from the chief’s house together with her bag, shoes, and other belongings.
The incident has thrown the residents into a state of shock and fear.
Speaking in an interview with Kasapa News monitored by Vimnewsghana.com the Assembly Member for the area Hon. Cephas Authur called on the Inspector General of Police to beef up security in the Mankessim and its environment.
According to him, this is the fifth time such an incident has occurred in Mankessim this year.
The body of the victim has been deposited at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital Mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
