
Store Enough Water, Weija Plant To Be Shut Down – GWCL
Residents in and around Weija have been warned by the Ghana Water Company Limited to save more water today, March 23, 2022.
The water utility made the news following the planned shutdown of the Weija Treatment Plant to allow for certain repairs.
The Ghana Water Company’s management has issued a press release announcing the temporary shutdown of the plant for maintenance.
“The Weija Headworks will be temporarily shut down on Wednesday 23rd March 2022 following a request by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) Ltd to carry out expansion works at one of the stations that power the Weija Raw Water Pumping Station,” according to a section of the announcement.
Kasoa, Weija, Mallam Junction, McCarthy Hill, Bortianor, Gbawe, Anyaa, Awoshie, and Dansoman are among the locations affected, according to the announcement.
Sakaman, Glefe, Odorkor, Mataheko, Mamprobi, Chorkor, Kaneshie, Akweteyman, Abeka-Lapaz, Nii Boi Town, Tesano, Achimota, Accra Central Business District, portions of Ministries, and neighboring districts are the remaining areas.
