Speeding Vehicle Kills Woman
After an accident this morning, an unidentified truck driver is missing.
An eyewitness said after the accident that the accident at the Odomu River of the Akyerensua Senior High School road was caused by overspeeding.
The deceased, Mary Sarpong, was walking with her husband on the Akyerensua-Agyapongkrom road when she was killed by an empty truck.
The deceased’s husband, Kofi Sarpong, stated that the truck driver was speeding, which caused the accident.
We were walking to our farm at six o’clock this morning when the truck driver ran over my wife and daughter, killing them instantly.
The driver did it on purpose, which is why he vanished after the accident, according to Kofi Sarpong.
Kofi Sarpong, who suffered minor injuries, added that the driver had gotten out of the truck after hitting his wife and daughter.
The fifteen-month-old child died at the scene, while the mother, Mary Sarpong, was pronounced dead at the Akyerensua Methodist Clinic.
Mary suffered injuries to her lower abdomen, but her fifteen-month-old daughter hit her head on the road when her mother fell on her.
The husband explained that Mary had slung her daughter on her back with a piece of clothing, causing her to fall on the baby when the truck hit her.
The Akyerensua police have taken over the investigation, but the truck driver has yet to be found.
Residents of Akyerensua believe the truck driver was under the influence of a magical spell, which enabled him to vanish after the accident.
