Special Prosecutor orders Customs to halt auction Sales
The Office of the Special Prosecutor has revealed that it is probing the Customs Division of GRA concerning the sale of vehicles and other goods between 1 July 2016 and 15 August 2022.
This was revealed in a press statement issued by the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng.
Mr. Kissi Buaben has in the letter cautions the Customs Division of GRA immediately halt and discontinue “all auction sales” of vehicles and other goods as his office commences an investigation into suspected corruption and corruption-related offenses.
He has therefore directed the Commissioner of Customs Division, Col Kwadwo Damoah (rtd) to produce the following documents to his office by 30 September 2022:
“The particulars and clear description of all auctioned items, the quantity of all auctioned items, the prices at which the items were auctioned, the date of each auction sale, the full names, address, and telephone numbers of the successful bidders at all the auction sales.”
