Sakawa Boys Attack Palace In Adanse Praso
Following an attack by a gang of violent thugs in Adanse Praso near Assin Praso in the Assin North District of the Central Region, five people have been admitted to the Assin Praso Presbyterian Hospital.
According to sources, some 30 thugs assaulted the Chief’s Palace and the Community, armed with firearms and cutlasses, with a mission to kill anyone they met on the street.
Five of the residents were shot by the armed thugs when the kids in the village mobilized and confronted them with guns.
The area’s chief was also shot.
The Youth apprehended two of the armed males and handed them over to the police. The residents have launched an operation to find the remaining armed men.
Nana Okofo Tabi I, the Kyidomhene of the area, claimed that rampant fraudulent activities among the Adanse Praso Youths in the Adanse South District of the Ashanti Region forced the formation of the Volunteering Group to patrol the area in order to restore peace and serenity.
In this manner, a gang of about 30 delinquent youths, believing that their activities were being restricted by the activity of the volunteer group that monitors the neighborhood at night, began attacking them with firearms.
The saddest aspect, according to Nana Okofo Tabi, is that these crooks weeded away 3 acres of rice crops and 5-acre cocoa farms belonging to one of the volunteers.
The police chief has urged officers to beef up security in the area to protect law-abiding residents.
