
Police Officer Crushed To Death At Worawora
Rashida Alhassan, a female Police Constable, was killed in a horrific accident at Worawora while riding a pillion with her fiance, Prince Owusu, on an unlicensed motorcycle.
The policewoman, who was stationed in Dambai in the Oti Region, was sent to the Accra Police Hospital, but she died soon after her arrival.
Prince Owusu, her betrothed, is said to have been injured and is currently being treated at the Ho Regional Hospital.
According to a police report, Yaw Gyamfi Kusi Awere, the Chief Executive Officer of Oti Royals Drinking Water in Apesokubi, called the Worawora Police Station and claimed that he was driving his vehicle, registration number GE 576-20, from Worawora to Apesokubi at around 7:00 p.m.
According to the report, the man stated that he chose to branch off the road a little after Worawora township and wash his vehicle at a new washing bay.
When he attempted to turn an unregistered motorcycle with a rider and a pillion, the motorcycle collided with his vehicle at the rear driving side, damaging the tail light.
Both the rider and the pillion passenger crashed to the ground and were brought to Worawora Hospital for treatment.
