Police Brutality Leaves Woman In Critical Condition
Jennifer Arthur is in severe condition after a police officer from the Kasoa District Police Station brutalized her after she attempted to stop the officer from flogging her husband.
Jennifer is currently admitted to the Kasoa Central Clinic’s emergency ward.
Jennifer Arthur has dislocated her elbow and wrist, according to a doctor’s report, and she also has bruises on her head.
According to sources, Kasoa District Police Officers led by District Commander C/Supt. Timothy Dassah visited Jennifer and appealed for forgiveness on behalf of the police officer who brutalized her.
The team attempted to make an offer of two thousand Ghana cedis to her family, but they declined and instead wanted justice for their daughter.
They wanted the identity of the obstinate officer from the police.
“We met with the police but we didn’t like what they told us because we need the person who committed the crime but they failed to produce the person. I want their leaders to know that they are not complying with the rules given them and right now they have caused severe harm to our relative”, a relative told the media.
He went on to say that the police should take care of her, and that we would then know what course of action to follow next.
“I’m upset by the deception being pushed by the police,” the victim’s sister added. My sister has no idea how to argue with people, yet the police claim she tore the police uniforms off and became naked as a result. All we require from the government is fairness.”
“When we witness what is going on in Ghana, we find it impossible to get justice from the police who are meant to be assisting us.” What can we do if the cops are doing this to us? Commander has spoken, and we expect him to uphold his word,” another relative said.
