Police Arrest 21-Year-Old Man For Alleged Police Recruitment Scam
The Police have arrested a 21-year-old young man for alleged police recruitment scam within the Volta Region.
The suspect Frank Fenuku Junior was arrested at Zongo Junction in Accra on Monday, September 27, 2021.
Three persons, Benard Amenya 18, Adikah Godsway 23 and Godson Wemegah have earlier been arrested over the same offence.
Police investigations have revealed that Fenuku is also the mastermind behind a Facebook account created in the name of the Regional Commander Deputy Commissioner of Polive Edward Oduro Kwateng.
A statement signed by the Regional Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Efia Tengey said “on 14 September 2021, three persons were arrested for a fraudulent Facebook publication purported to have been created by the Volta Regional Police Commander, DCOP Mr Edward Oduro Kwateng, advertising to assist potential applicants to be enlisted into the Ghana Police Service.”
“Further investigation into the development revealed the SIM card with the number 0557918534 contained in the Facebook and which aided the nefarious operations of the suspect and his accolices was found in the possession of suspect Frank Fenuku Junior”, part of the statement said.
The statement added the suspect admitted to conspiring with others to swindle unsuspecting victims of their money under the pretext of allocating protocol slots in the ongoing police service recruitment drive.
Fenuku Frank Junior is expected to be arraigned before the Ho Circuit Court today Thursday September 30.
