
Pachie Primary School Children Forced To Sit On Cement Blocks As Chairs
The Pupils of Pechie Basic School in the Krachi West Municipality of the Oti Region used cement blocks as their chairs and table on the bare floor to study.
Community members of the school said that The Pupils of Pechie Basic School in the Krachi West Municipality of the Oti Region used cement blocks as their chairs and table on the bare floor to study.
Community members of the school said that due to lack of proper infrastructure in the community is affecting the quality of their children’s education.
Moreover, an Accra-based radio station visit the community and observed that there is no single chair to be used by the Kindergarten (KG) pupils, and for that matter, they sit on the bare floor and others use cement blocks and benches as tables and chairs to study during class hours.
It was noted that the school had not benefited from classroom infrastructure since it was established.
Some of the community members share their worried that the situation is a threat to the future of the pupils and the community as well.
They express their dissatisfaction that, the school lacks classrooms, furniture, textbooks, and other teaching and learning materials which is not helping maintain a conducive environment for the pupils.
Also, they further indicated that classes always come to a close when it is about to rain which affects teachers in performing their duties as expected from them.
