Prof Kwaku Asare Expose Law School -Students Not Failed, Makola Cannot Accommodate Them
Professor Kwaku Asare aka Kwaku Azar of the Florida State University has clashed again with the General Legal Councils exposing them for failing over 2000 students in the law school entrance exams adding that the students did not fail but rather the law school has been restricted not to accommodate them.
In response to the release of results for students who passed their entrance exams into the Ghana School of Law, he noted that while the number is more than prior years, the monopoly must be broken.
He said that the approximately 2000 LLB graduates who failed the entrance tests were denied admission to the law school due to a lack of space.
Two thousand and thirty-four (2,034) LLB applicants who sat for the Ghana School of Law 2021 Entrance Tests in the 2021/2021 academic year failed the exams.
Only 790 students out of 2,824 who sat for the exam from various law schools across the country passed.
The percentage of students who passed is 28%, whereas the percentage of students who failed is 72%.
This year’s Ghana School of Law entrance tests drew a total of 2824 applicants.
Constitutional law, immovable property, contract law, tort law, criminal law, and the Ghana legal system were among the six subject areas on which the applicants were tested.
“Look, we were not born yesterday. 790/2824 is only a marginal improvement over 128/1820. The whole legal education model is utterly broken down. The monopoly must come to an end!!! The Universities must not be happy to just collect money from so many students who get a terminal LLB. They have a responsibility to prepare the 2,034 (72%) students, who cannot be accommodated by Makola, for the Bar examination. These 2,034 students have not failed. They have just been denied a place because Makola cannot accommodate them. The time to end this charade is NOW! SALL is the cardinal sin of the 8th Parliament. Da Yie!,” Lawyer Azar said painfully.
