One More Victim Dead In Appiatse Explosion

A 38-year-old victim of the Appiatse explosion which took 13 people’s lives has also been confirmed dead.

Mr. Paul Asare is said to be the deceased and one of the residents who sustained many injuries in the terrible explosion on January 21, 2022.

He passed on at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi on Monday, June 6, 2022.

After three days he was rushed to the hospital when he fell unconscious following complaints of stomach upset.

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Appiatse Disaster Committee, Thywill Quarshie, confirmed Mr. Asare’s death.

He said this in an interview, “Due to the impact of the explosion which opened up his belly, he had to undergo surgery and was on admission till March. In April and ay, he visited the Tarkwa hospital for review and was responding to treatment until his unfortunate demise on Monday. We have all been left broken.”

Mr. Asare survived with his wife and three children aged 8, 5, and one respectively.
