
One Dead, Driver Injured In Crash Off Tema-Akosombo Highway
On Wednesday, May 25, 2022, an unidentified woman died tragically near EMEFS Estate Junction, off the Tema-Akosombo highway.
The incident occurred when a Howo tipper truck with the registration number GN 1926-15, loaded with gravels and heading towards Tema, collided with a Toyota Hiace bus with the registration number GN 578-22, killing the unidentified woman believed to be a watermelon seller and trapping the driver of the Tipper truck.
Upon arriving at the accident scene, Personnel Fire Service Rescuers from the Motorway Fire Station extricated and released the trapped injured motorist, who was then transported by ambulance to the Tema General Hospital for treatment.
The woman’s lifeless body was likewise extricated, rescued, and handed over to the Police Service’s MTTD, which had deposited it in the Tema General Hospital morgue for preservation and identification.
The Toyota Hiace’s rear was harmed, and the Tipper Truck’s bucket and head compartment were harmed.
Meanwhile, the cause of the collision remains unknown, as Afienya MTTD stated that an investigation has been initiated into the occurrence.
