No More Delay, MD Must Go’ – ECG Workers Demand Removal Of Their Boss
Workers at the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) say they do not want their Managing Director, Kwame Agyeman-Budu, to be given a contract extension because he has supposedly reached the necessary retirement age of 60.
Workers, led by their divisional leadership and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), are demanding that the MD step down immediately.
The MD has “refused to remain away and continues to showcase himself as MD and sign official documents,” according to the workers.
“The MD reached the 60 years mandatory retirement on February 21, 2021. The earlier petition sent through the board chair informing the board that, staff will not work with the MD due to non-performance and retirement is yet to receive any response,” the workers lamented.
