New-Born Baby Boy Picked Up From Public Toilet
A freshly born infant was discovered in a public toilet in the Asuofri Electoral Area, shocking residents of Nkrankwanta in the Dormaa West District of the Bono Region.
Residents in the area surrounding the public toilet responded to distress cries, mobilized, and quickly rescued the infant boy who was still alive from the feces-filled hole.
The baby, who was covered in feces, was cleansed carefully and taken to the Dormaa West District Hospital in Nkrankwanta, where health workers are monitoring his condition.
Madam Abena Siaw, a local who was one of the first on the scene, was stunned and perplexed as to why somebody would do such a sacrilege.
“I don’t understand why somebody would do such a thing, knowing how valuable children are. The situation perplexes me, especially given how some individuals struggle to have their own children.”
When approached about the matter, Issifu Issah, Assembly Member for the Asuofri Central Electoral Area, said that a report had been filed with the police to catch the perpetrator.
He urged the police to be more vigilant this time because a similar occurrence occurred in his electoral district last year, but no arrests were made.
