
NDC Accuse Govt Of Attempting To Steal Jomoro Seat As Court Withdraws Bench Warrant Against MP
The National Democratic Congress, NDC is accusing the ruling NPP of hiding behind people to orchestrate a plan to steal the Jomoro Parliamentary seat from them.
This allegation follows a legal battle over the seat after the NDC MP for the constituency was cited for breach of her seat because she allegedly hold the citizenship of another country.
This started the legal tussle which resulted in the issuance of the bench warrant against her because she could not appear in court on the last adjourned date.
Amid this allegation, the Sekondi Commercial Court ‘A’ has withdrawn an earlier bench warrant issued for the arrest of the Jomoro MP, Dorcas Affo-Toffey after her layers presented her to court and made a case for the warrant to be set aside.
On Monday, the Court presided by Justice Sedina Agbemava issued a warrant for the MP’s arrest, she failed to appear in court over contempt charges.
But during proceedings on Thursday, the Court rescinded its decision following the arrival of the MP in court.
The court has adjourned t case to February 16, 2022, to continue the substantive matter.
