National Security To Provide Security At Public Places
The Minister for National Security honorable Albert Kan-Dapaah in a press release draws the attention of the general public concerning the growing threat of terrorism in our sub-region and urges individuals to be extra vigilant and careful in personal and communal security.
He added that the security needs to work hard to protect the citizenry because many of our neighbors suffered from the attacks of a terrorist group as activities spread from the Sahelian region towards the Coastal West Africa States and for that matter their next target is Ghana since Burkina Faso, La Cote d’Ivoire, and Togo has already been attacked.
The minister makes a strong appeal about vigilance in areas of mass gatherings such as entertainment centers, churches, and mosques.
The use of guards, security gadgetry, and lighting of the areas surrounding the public could help but the most important tool is the individuals to take vigilance as their responsibility.
It’s a good reason to believe that terrorists operating within the Ghanaian region are the target and thus the need to increase security measures and engage the general public effectively.
He urged the managers of public gathering places to be extra careful in their endeavors and the security agencies in charge of maintaining peace will also make sure they work hard to ensure the safety of the people of the country.
