NADMO Staff Busted Over GHC43K Salary Theft
Alhassan Seidu Mahama, a Savelugu National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) employee, has been detained for taking a total of Ghc43,000 in unpaid salary.
The workers continued to be paid even after he had left the position, according to NADMO management.
Nana Agyemang Prempeh, Director-General for NADMO, testified before the Public Accounts Committee to answer concerns concerning transgressions in the 2018 Auditor General’s report. He said the arrest was made after all attempts to convince the former workers to refund the money failed.
Mr. Prempeh said that some methods were used to get the former employee detained when testifying before the Public Account Committee (PAC) on Wednesday.
“We placed an embargo on the District Directors and their failure to take action. We placed an embargo on the former two District Directors on their salaries so that if they don’t get Mr. Alhassan we will ask them to pay for the amount,” Mr. Prempeh said.
