My Daughter Knew Her Father Wanted To Use Her For Rituals- Mother Reveals
The mother of the girl whose father tried to kill her for money has spoken about the incident.
According to Evelyn Kemeh, who spoke to GTV, the father does not live with them, although he does visit the girl on occasion.
She claims that the daughter’s father, Evans Oppong, has a wonderful rapport with her, to the point where he threw her the largest birthday party in her school last year, which is still the talk of the school.
On Wednesday, the father called the mother to tell her that he would be heading to the children’s school on Thursday to pick her up and take her to a seamstress to get measured for a dress.
The father then inquired as to whether her birthday is Thursday, indicating that she is Yaa.
The mother was dubious of how the father inquired about her birthday, so she discussed it with friends, who advised her not to allow the dad to come for the child on Thursday.
When the daughter returned from school on Wednesday afternoon, the mother stated she told her about how her father planned to pick her up from school on Thursday.
She then informed her daughter about how her father inquired about her birth date to see if she was truly born on Thursday.
According to the mother, her 11-year-old daughter replied by saying that he probably wants to use her for Sikaduro, but they laughed it off.
Fortunately, the father did not come for her on Thursday but came to the house on Friday morning to collect her.
He informed them that he would be taking her to a seamstress to have her measurements taken.
Because of her misgivings, the mother instructed her daughter not to sleep in the car on the way to the seamstress, not to drink or eat anything, and to shout if the alleged seamstress tried to undress her.
On Friday afternoon, the mother was summoned by the authorities to the Oyibi Police Station, where she was informed that her daughter’s father had been arrested for attempting to use their daughter for money rituals.
Since then, the individual has been remanded in custody.
