Movie ‘Borga’ Set To Premiere In Ghana Soon
BORGA is a collaboration of German and Ghanaian filmmakers. The movie was produced by German production companies Chromosom Film and East End Film as well as Ghanaian/ U.K production company TD Afrique.
BORGA features Ghanaian screen actors Adjetey Anang and Lydia Forson, Eugene Boateng, Joseph Otsiman, and Fred Nii Amugi.
The film has been screened in Germany and has won several awards internationally and locally as well.
Speaking at a virtual press conference held on Sunday 5th June 2022, the film’s Director York- Fabian Raabe shared how the feel was received by people in other parts of the world.
” it’s like the reception was really good. The way this film was made, is not typical in the Western film world. People sometimes have prejudice about these sorts of films and when they see them they realize this is something different and from a unique perspective”, he said.
The movie seeks to clear the attestation that all migrants are living a successful and wealthy lifestyle abroad. Lead actor Eugene Boateng speaking at the event expressed satisfaction with how well the film has been received. ‘ I think this film has already made quite an impact.
So many people can relate to it, he said.
” it is telling a universal story out of a Ghanaian perspective with a Ghanaian lead actor which is an international project, it means a lot to anyone who has seen it”, he added.
BORGA is set to premiere at the Silverbird Cinemas at Accra mall and West Hills Mall on Friday, June 24, 2022, at 7:30 pm and 9:30 pm with tickets selling for 50ghc.
