Mother Puts Daughter’s Hands In Boiling Water For Stealing 50p
An eight-year-old girl is fighting for her life after being attacked with a stick by her mother Janet Awo and having her hands placed in boiling water for allegedly stealing Coconut Toffee worth 50p at Awutu Bereku in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region.
According to sources, the victim’s mother, Janet Awo, a tiny trader, instructed her daughter to park their products after they ended their regular business, but she subsequently discovered that one of the 50 pesewas worth of coconut toffee was missing.
Comfort Amoaku, the victim’s grandmother, claimed in an interview that she almost passed out when she saw what her daughter had done to her kid.
The family does not have Ghc150 for the medical doctor to sign for the young girl, according to Comfort Amoaku, who stated that the case has been reported to the Awutu Bereku Police station and medical papers have been supplied to them since Sunday, July 31, 2022.
She claimed that due to their limited financial resources, the family is treating the young girl with natural remedies.
The victim said that she took one of the toffees without telling her mother since she was hungry at the time.
She stated that when her mother became enraged, she dove her hands into fire and hot water.
