
Man In Court For Insulting NPP’s Carlos Ahenkorah
A businessman accused of insulting Carlos Ahenkorah, Member of Parliament (MP) for the Tema West Constituency, has been granted GHC10,000.00 bail with two sureties by an Accra District Court.
Nana Yaw Ntim pleaded not guilty to the charge of insulting behavior.
In the meantime, the case has been sent to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for ADR (ADR).
On May 24, 2022, the parties are scheduled to return to court to present a report on the settlement.
In requesting bail, the Defense Counsel stated that the party had existing structures to resolve the situation and that the accused had individuals of substance to stand as sureties, as well as that the case did not warrant the use of public resources to remand him.
He then asked the court to submit the case to the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
The accused was a resident of Dwahenya near Tema and a member of the NPP in the same Constituency, the prosecution said the court presided over by Madam Ama Adomako Kwakye.
