Man Commits Suicide After Defiling 12-Year-Old Daughter
Atta Munkoh, 38, committed suicide by hanging after defiling his 12-year-old daughter in Anomabo-Nwonwomaadze, a tiny hamlet in the Central Region’s Mfantseman Municipality.
According to reports, the deceased had been having sex with his daughter for some time and had threatened to murder her if she revealed it to anybody.
Mr. Alex Adu, a Unit Committee member, revealed that the young girl could no longer keep the secret and informed one of the community’s elders.
He stated that the deceased was detained and arraigned in court, but that he was later released on bail.
“The suspect was supposed to appear in court today, Thursday, March 10, 2022, but he wasn’t there.”
So they arranged a search party to find him, and to their surprise, he was discovered hanging dead in a bush in order to avoid being sentenced by the court,” revealed Mr. Alex Adu.
The deceased was alleged to have divorced his wife and was responsible for his daughter, which he exploited by sleeping with her.
Officers from the Saltpond Police Command took the body to the mortuary for preservation while the investigation was ongoing.
