Court documents show that 26-year-old father reportedly beat his 8-month-old son to death ‘because he was angry and frustrated’. The father was angry because taking care of the baby forced him to cancel his weekend trip to Comic-Con.

He reportedly admitted that he intentionally punched the child in the face out of frustration which caused the injury to the boy’s nose.  Investigators say the defendant was upset because he had to cancel a trip to a a comic book convention.

The 26-year-old dad from Florida, Keyshawn Wanya Bailey, was indicted on Tuesday. According to the court documents, grand jury indicted the defendant on multiple charges, including first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse, child abuse and child neglect.

On Nov. 23, officers responded to a 911 call from the 26-year-old father who reported that his son was choking. The responding officers and EMS personnel saw that the baby had sustained a large hematoma on the back of his head. The baby was taken to a hospital where a CT scan showed that the baby had a fractured skull, swollen brain, and subdural hematomas on each side of his head, according to reports.

The medical personnel told authorities that the child’s injuries appeared to be intentionally inflicted. The baby was pronounced dead later in the day.

During an interview, the boy’s mother told authorities that the child was fine when she left for work. The defendant initially denied knowing how his son sustained the injuries that ultimately led to his death.

He denied the offence but later admitted he punched the child out of frustration.
