Lovers Lashed At Forecourt Of Wa Naa’s Palace For Filming Sexual Act
In Wa, in the Upper West Region, lovers who filmed their sexual encounters were flogged and tied to a pole in the foyer of Wa Naa’s Palace.
They were allegedly attacked because they were caught having sex in a video that went popular on social media.
According to the young males, filming their sexual act was inappropriate.
As a result, they were penalized for ruining the town’s name and indulging in an act that is prohibited by Islam.
According to reports, the two were apprehended and escorted to the Palace by several young men in the town.
The Wa Naa, however, was not present when they arrived at the Palace.
Instead than waiting for the Chief, the young men decided to take matters into their own hands and administer the punishment they saw fit.
The couple was seen tied to a pole at the Palace’s courtyard and being whipped while people watched on in the popular flogging video.
Two males were spotted first thrashing the young woman, then flogging the man in the same manner.
The group had already agreed to help those who were in similar situations.
This happened after a young woman represented herself as a commercial sex worker on Craigslist.
She allegedly claimed in the video that she was open for hookups with interested parties.
The elders were notified by community members who were dissatisfied with the advertisement.
According to the report, the elders vowed to act if required.
This was done to discourage others from following suit.
