Kwame Nkrumah Museum Begins Renovation
Renovations have commenced on the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park today July 20, 2022. The rehabilitation and modernization of the memorial park are expected to be completed in April 2023.
The building is a $3 million estimated project.
The Nkrumah Park was built in 1992 and dedicated to the first president of Ghana, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. It was officially inaugurated in 2004.
It was fully upgraded and extended in September 2009.
On Friday, May 27, 2022, the Ministry of Tourism announced that the Kwame Nkrumah was closed for renovations.
Minister for Information Kojo Oppong Nkrumah and Samia Nkrumah were present at the commencement ceremony of the memorial park.
The new building will entail a new presidential library, a training center, a new restaurant, and a VVIP lounge.
