Heavy Security At Jubilee House Following Arise Ghana’s Demonstration
Before the second day of the protest organized by the pressure organization, Arise Ghana today, June 29, 2022, Jubilee House is well guarded.
The entrance to the government building is currently guarded by armed police and military personnel.
Why the Jubilee House ramped up security the day after demonstrators and police exchanged blows over the best route for the march is unknown.
Protesters will march from the El-Wak Sports Stadium through the Liberation Road to Parliament House on the second day of the Arise Ghana rally.
Arise Ghana had originally intended to picket in front of Jubilee House, but the police objected and later filed an injunction, asking the court to order the protesters to start at Obra Spot and end at Independence Square.
The court subsequently approved several of the police’s requests, which made it possible for yesterday’s demonstration to take place.
Violence afterwards marred the protest.
Despite yesterday’s development, the organization has stated that it will continue with the second day of its demonstration.
