Gravedigger Nabbed, Receives Slaps For Attempting To Sell Body Parts
Allegations that a gravedigger was trafficking in dead people’s body parts led to his arrest.
After being duped by some Kasoa residents who had caught wind that he was involved in that “trade,” the suspect going by the name of Haruna was “exposed” by a Facebook user going by the name of Junior Muntari 1.
Haruna is attacked by some individuals who demand that he open some black polythene bags he had carried in a nearly three-minute video posted on Facebook.
“You are selling bones of people; I have caught you with people’s bones live, unwrap it,” one person is heard saying in Hausa.
The commentator identifies some of the material from one bag as human flesh and some of the material from another as skull bone in the video.
“He is used to doing this at the cemetery for a long time, I raised the issue, but people thought I was exaggerating; here it is, you are all seeing it live. He brought it from Awudome,” the commentator added.
According to the story, a person had requested body parts from the deceased from Haruna, and that person had been identified as the medicine man by a second person.
According to reports, he charged the shipment 400 cedis, of which 100 GHc was transferred to him using mobile money.
