GRA To Tax Rich People More
Ghana Revenue Authority has revealed its plans to tax rich people more in the country.
Many averagely paid Ghanaians complain a lot about taxes as they say their income is too small to fuel such taxes.
The authority also noted that from May 1 taxes can be paid remotely instead of walk-ins through the Ghana.gov platform and other automated channels.
The payment is to improve collections and remove all the challenges that negatively affect payments.
The Commissioner-General of GRA, Rev Ammishaddai Owusu Amoah explained that “for the first time in history taxes will be paid by not by walking to any of our offices in town.”
“You can also do it through all the banks on the Ghana.gov platforms” he added.
The Commissioner-General also stressed that “we are even working to remove all tellers from officers in line with the full automation from next year”.
