Mary, an 18-year-old girl from Tesano in Accra, was washed away by severe flood water.

On Sunday, June 5, 2022, during a 2-hour downpour, the tragedy occurred.

The girl was washed away into a drain while attempting to retrieve her slippers, which had fallen into a small drain, according to eyewitnesses.

The girl was reportedly lying down when a vehicle came to a stop to buy maize from her.

So she served the individual, but on her way back to seat down, her slippers slid into the gutter, and when she knelt down to pick them up, the floods swept her away.

After the rains, she was discovered dead in the drain.

The deceased was the last child in a family of four.
