
Ghanaian Man Dies On Flight From Accra To Washington
Daniel Toffey, a gospel singer, is reported dead on a flight from Accra to Washington after visiting Ghana to attend his in-law’s burial and meet his family.
His flight is said to have left Accra on Sunday night, May 22, 2022, and expected to land on Monday morning in DC on United Airway flight 997, according to Graphic Online.
However, calamity struck while on board killing Daniel who is believed to have suffered a pulmonary embolism.
[A pulmonary embolism (PE) is a blood clot that originates in a blood artery in the lungs (often in the leg). It subsequently travels to a pulmonary artery, where it abruptly reduces blood flow].
Daniel Junior died as his father, Daniel Toffey Sr., stood by helplessly.
His father narrated that his son kept saying, “Daddy, I can’t breathe, Daddy, I can’t breathe.”
After sitting for a bit, the victim was said to have attempted to get up to use the restroom when his movement became shaky and he began gasping for air.
“We need a doctor, we need a doctor,” screamed one young lady.
Despite having as many as seven doctors on board and equipment with which those doctors were equipped, Daniel Toffey Junior, who worships with PIWC in Columbus North, choked to death on the flight.
