Ghana Launches First Ever Epharmacy
According to the Vice President;
“the national ePharmacy platform, which is the first national-scale ePharmacy platform in Africa, will enable Ghanaians to have access to prescribed medicines and buy them by making orders online with a mobile phone through the ePharmacy app, website, or a shortcode, and have the medicine delivered to a requested location.”
“The ePharmacy platform will not only ensure convenience and competitive pricing, but it will also help ensure that counterfeit and inferior drugs are not sold to unsuspecting Ghanaians, as the system, which has been linked to the FDA, will be able to detect such fake drugs. ”
This innovative digital platform is another milestone in our country’s digitalization drive, and it will significantly boost the pharmaceutical industry and the economy. It is the first such National scale e-pharmacy platform in Africa. He emphasised.
He also commended the Pharmacy Council, the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana, and all stakeholders for the joint efforts to make this innovation possible since 2019.
