The National Team of Ghana massively won their first Qualifiers match into the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 3-0 against Madagascar at Cape Coast Sports Stadium.

The goal scorers were Kudus Mohammed, Felix Afena-Gyan, and Osman Bukari with unprecedented three points.

Meanwhile, the game looked outwardly to be heading towards a discouraging result on the Stars’ return to the Cape Coast Stadium after a first half in which Ghana controlled and created lots of chances but failed to score a goal.

Also poor finishing and a slow opponent in the Madagascar goalie guarantee that the game tarry goalless at the break.

Moreover, the Black Stars continued to rule at the start of the second half and were rewarded when Kudus score his first goal in the 53rd minute after a cutback from the right.

The lead was doubled minutes later as Felix Afena-Gyan penetrate a loose ball home from a Jordan Ayew corner.

However, the Black Stars were in total control and thought to score a third goal as Kudus penetrated home from a Baba Rahman cross.

Ghana continued to attack and rewarded to found a third goal when substitute Osman Bukari circled the Madagascar goalkeeper before entering the net.

There was a prominent senior experience Mubarak Wakaso who was also part of the squad and was debated over the week.

The win takes the Black Stars top of Group E on goal difference ahead of Angola who beat CAR 2-1 in the other group game.
