
Fuel Station Robbers Busted, Guns Seized
The police in Kumasi have captured two suspects suspected to be members of the four-man gang that robbed a Goil Filling Station at Abrepo Kesse near Bohyen.
Baba Macho and Yaw Anin, the accused, were apprehended following a lengthy police investigation, just a month after they attacked the Goil Filling Station.
Two foreign-made firearms used by the criminals for the operation were also recovered, according to a police document that confirmed the arrest.
Tanguani and Oga Boakye, two more major members of the gang, are currently on the run, and the police are doing everything they can to apprehend them and bring them to justice.
According to the report, on April 14, 2022, four hoodlums raided the Goil Filling Station in Abrepo Kesse, fled with their loot, and went into hiding until they were apprehended on May 10, 2022.
“The Ashanti Regional Police Intelligence Unit nabbed Baba Macho and Yaw Anin, two of the four suspects in the Abrepo Kesse gasoline station robbery.
“On May 10, 2022, suspects were apprehended in an intelligence-led operation from their hideouts.
Tanguani and Oga Boakye, two additional gang members, are currently on the run, according to a police statement.
Yaw Anin, the first person arrested, was involved in a robbery and murder case in Offinso, according to preliminary findings.
During interrogation, Anin also verified the Abrepo Kesse robbery case.
“During questioning, the suspect, Yaw Anin, admitted that he and his colleagues committed the crime at Abrepo Filling Station and freely took police to their numerous hideouts in Ahwiaa and Fawade to catch Baba Macho.
“Suspect Baba Macho also took police to Diaso in the Central Region, where police collected two foreign firearms belonging to him that were suspected of being used in the crimes,” the statement continued.
