Due to a torrential downpour that began on Monday night, a section of the Accra-Tema Beach Road has fallen in.

One side of the road has collapsed, leaving motorists stuck, according to photographs obtained by VimNews.

Some residents linked the development to the construction of a new bridge on the stretch to replace an aging one.

According to them, the new bridge was unable to withstand the subsurface water pressure, resulting in the collapse of a section of the road.

Meanwhile, traffic has been redirected and a kilometer of the route has been closed.

This is to assist prevent future road damage and any unpleasant incidents.
