Flogging Wa Lovers Is Dehumanizing & Demeaning -GBA
The Ghana Bar Association (GBA) has promised to provide the necessary legal assistance to two lovers who were flogged in Wa, Upper East Region, over a leaked sex tape.
They believe the act is humiliating, dehumanizing, demeaning, and degrading, and that it is a violation of their fundamental human rights.
For filming their sexual intercourse, the two lovers were tied to a pole and flogged in the Wa Naa’s Palace forecourt.
Flogging them is an attack on their person, according to the GBA.
In a statement, the Association also demanded that all persons involved in the physical abuse of the two young people be arrested, the incident be investigated, and the perpetrators be prosecuted in line with the law.
