Five Die In Accident At Akim Birimso

Five people have perished in an accident at Akim Birimso, in the Eastern area.

Seven others were hurt and were sent to the Hawa Memorial Hospital in Osiem for treatment.

DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, the Eastern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, said the accident happened about 3:55 a.m. on Monday.

It featured a 13-passenger Toyota Hiace small bus traveling from Kumasi to Accra that strayed off its lane and collided with an articulated Daf low bed with registration number GT3799-16.
The Mini bus’s driver has yet to be recognized.

The five people perished instantly.

The bodies of the five have been taken to the Kibi Government Hospital for autopsy and preservation.
