
Five Busted Over Bawku Clashes Involving Soldiers
Following a gun battle with the military in Bawku, Upper East Region, on Wednesday morning, five people were captured for the killing two civilians and injuring three military officers.
The five are currently being held in police custody to aid with investigations, while the injured military officers have been flown to the 37 Military Hospital for treatment.
The bodies have been taken to the mortuary at Bawku Municipal Hospital for autopsy.
The three injured soldiers are from the 11th Mechanized Infantry Battalion, which is based in Bolgatanga’s Upper East Regional Headquarters.
When the event occurred, they were on special duty to arrest some persons who were causing confusion in the neighborhood.
