
Female Petrol Attendant Shot By Robbers
When gunmen raided the Glory Oil Filling station at Akyem Abenase in the Akyemansa District of the Eastern Region on Thursday night, they shot a female fuel attendant in the face.
Faustina Ampomaa, 23, was brought to Oda Government Hospital after being critically injured, but was then moved to the Regional Hospital in Koforidua, and then to Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
According to one of the employees at the Filling Station [name withheld], the two suspected armed robbers arrived on a motorcycle at 7:30 p.m. Thursday while they were working and pointed their pump-action rifles at them, demanding that they relinquish their money and other personal goods.
According to the staff, the armed thieves aggressively forced a woman who was unfortunately present to the ground, while another worker was assaulted with the gun’s butt.
“I was sitting here and Ampomah Faustina was inside counting her money for an account, so I went inside to do the same.”
Then, out of nowhere, armed thieves appeared and demanded that we produce our money”.
“So I walked into the office.” So, after Faustina had locked the place where we stored the money, I requested her to throw the key for me to do the same, but they began shooting.
The witness said, “They shot her in the head.”
The armed thieves abandoned the operation and fled, according to the witness.
Meanwhile, the police have taken over the investigation and are working to apprehend the suspects.
