
England And Arsenal Young Super Star Eddie Nketiah Acquires Ghanaian Passport
The hope of Ghana hopes and Arsenal’s young superstar Eddie Nketiah acquiring his dream Ghanaian passport to play for the senior national team has completely become a reality.
He was the England youth record goalscorer and recently show interest to switch nationality and play for Ghana ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
He said when asked about the move to playing for the Black Stars, ‘Of course, it is a possibility. I’m open to both, playing for Ghana and playing for England as well.”
The young superstar added, “It’s always good to have the opportunity to potentially do that.”
He is still qualified to switch allegiance to play for the West African powerhouse despite featuring for the England youth teams, Nketiah, acquiring his Ghanaian passport is a crucial moment for him switching his nationality.
Ghana Football Association (GFA) authorities together with Black Stars deputy captain Thomas Partey have been on the neck of the potential young superstar to switch allegiance and play for Ghana.
His on-record as an England U21 goal scorer and reject call-ups into the England senior team.
The London-born forward has played for both the England U17 and U21 sides, scoring 16 international goals for the latter.
The young superstar footballer is a British by birth but his parents are not from England which allows him to switch and play for the Black Stars.
Ghana has been paired in Group H against Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea ahead of the 2022 World Cup.
