ECG Disconnects Glo Over GH¢4.6 Million Power Debt
The National Revenue Recovery task force of the Electricity Company of Ghana has disconnected Glo telecommunication network power over GH¢4.6 million debt.
The power cut was done last week Thursday, June 9, 2022, which lead the company without power from the national grid for four days now.
Globacom Limited Ghana, providers of Glo network in Ghana, and some list of heavily committed institutions focused on the power distribution company.
Glo operates under the lowest market share in the telecommunications industry in Ghana compering MTN, Vodafone, and AirtelTigo.
ECG cut its power a few months ago because of not being able to afford it.
According to the ECG, they are ready to restore their power if they pay all their debts.
In another development, ECG has announced its intention to audit electricity meters in the country.
ECG said the exercise will begin on July 7, 2022, and thus urged persons having issues with their meters to have them checked before the end.
The meter auditing is expected to check the system and get rid of illegal and malfunctioning meters in the country.
