Drivers in Donkorkrom Fix Bad Roads
Poor road networks in most rural parts of Ghana have been an issue of concern for years but nothing seems to be done about it as a result, drivers and residents of Donkorkrom in the Kwahu Afram Plains North District of the Eastern Region on Wednesday, September 21 had engaged in communal labor to fix portions of the bad roads in Donkorkrom.
The portion of the road caved in on Tuesday, causing vehicles and passengers traveling from the Volta Region through Agordeke to the Donkorkrom township to be stranded.
They were seen to be using wood logs, sizeable stones, and bags of sand to fill the caved-in portion, hopeful that major rehabilitation works commence soon.
On September 16, the residents staged a demonstration and also presented a petition to the District Chief Executive (DCE), Nana Isaac Ofori Koraa, over the deplorable nature of the road pending response.
