A 79-year-old pensioner and one of the principal elders in one of the royal clans of Prampram has been gunned down by unknown men suspected to be contract killers.

The deadly incident which happened at Miotso, a suburb of Prampram has thrown residents into a state of shock and fear as an earlier killing of another elder Kley Tsokunya about a month ago.

Reports say several shots were heard to be fired after it broke into his house. The deceased was later found with gunshot wounds in the abdomen and chest.

Residents say the Prampram area is becoming notorious for such acts and calling on the police to increase patrols there.

Others suspect the deaths may be linked tote numerous land disputes in the area as the area has become one of the most attractive and expensive areas in the capital.

The regional Police Command has sent a reinforcement to the district.
