
Bus Driver Dead While Making Calls Over Parcels Delivery
A Yutong VIP Bus driver with the registration number ER-9955-16 who was driving from Accra to Juaboso has died.
He was killed in a horrific accident outside the Kingdom Palace Restaurant on the Highway of Sefwi Asawinso in Wiawso Municipality in the Western North Region on Friday morning while making phone calls to deliver gifts.
In the deadly accident, some of the passengers were injured to varying degrees.
According to a radio eyewitness, the driver, who was on the phone, was unable to manage the sharp curve appropriately, causing the Yutong bus to collide with the unfinished storey structure.
The motorist is said to have perished on the scene.
Some of the customers who escaped serious injury claimed that the station’s driver began making phone calls since he had been given a large number of goods to deliver to their owners.
The deceased was sent to a morgue in Sewfi for preservation, while the injured were admitted to the same institution and are receiving care.
Meanwhile, as the inquiry is ongoing, police have visited the location to assess the situation.
