Bill Cosby Found Guilty Of Sexually Abusing 16-Year-Old Girl In 1975
Bill Cosby has been held responsible for the 1975 sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl at the Playboy Mansion.
Together with her attorneys, including renowned Roe v. Wade attorney Gloria Allred, the woman who accused Bill Cosby of sexually assaulting her when she was 16 at the Playboy Mansion in 1975 hailed the actor’s conviction.
On Tuesday, a jury in Los Angeles County found Judy Huth’s favor and gave her a $500,000 judgment. Judy is now 64 years old.
Jurors found that Cosby willfully engaged in unwanted sex with Huth, that he had a reasonable suspicion that she was underage and that his actions were motivated by an irrational or abnormal desire to engage in sex with a minor.
‘It’s been torture,’ Huth said of the seven-year legal fight. ‘To be ripped apart, you know, thrown under the bus and backed over. This, to me, is such a big victory.’
Allred, who defended Jane Roe in the famous 1973 abortion case, claimed during her brief post-trial appearance while partying with Huth that her client “won genuine change.”
Despite not being a criminal decision, the renowned attorney claimed that the civil case “shows there is another channel of justice.”
The jury’s verdict is a significant legal setback for the 84-year-old musician who was once revered as America’s father. It comes over a year after his Pennsylvania criminal sexual assault conviction was overturned and he was set free.
