
Barker-Vormawor Not Cooperating With Investigations – A-G Reveals
The Attorney-General is requesting the Tema High Court to reject a bail application submitted by Oliver Barker-Vormawor, the principal convener of the #FixTheCountry Movement.
Godfred Dame claims he has not cooperated with police inquiries thus far and has no fixed address.
Mr. Barker-Vormawor, who is thought to be ill, has filed a bail application through his attorneys.
Over charges that he pushed members of his group to overthrow the government, he is facing a criminal charge of treason.
Since February 11, 2022, when he was arrested at the Kotoka International Airport, he has been in police detention.
The Attorney General’s documents filed in opposition to the bail explain the difficulties investigators have experienced thus far.
According to the AG, the young activist has failed to comply with a court order directing him to provide police access to his cellphone.

According to the AG, he has failed to present the police with any fixed address in Ghana where he dwells.
“That having regard to the nature of the offense and the punishment which conviction will entail, the applicant, a person with no fixed place of abode in Ghana is not likely to appear to stand trial if granted bail,” the AG said.
